stevie is truly the best personal trainer
i’ve ever had. combining kindness, patience, humor,
and professionalism, she uses her deep understanding of the body, movement, and well-being to make fitness both
accessible and enjoyable
her approach to movement is refreshingly non-hierarchical; she never pretends to know your body better than you do. Instead, she fosters a truly approachable, loving, and community-centered practice
working with stevie has felt so supportive, enlivening, and impactful.
her ability to train has allowed me to surpass my own expectations of what i thought was possible, both mentally and physically. I have finally been able to begin redeveloping my confidence as an athlete
since working with stevie's personalized training program, my mobility and balance have improved, and my pain has decreased. I used to dread working out & conditioning; now i look forward to it! i also appreciate stevie's trauma-informed training and her compassionate approach to facilitating movement and progress
My favorite aspect of strength training
with stevie is how my mindset toward my body has shifted.
Even when I broke my leg, she honored both the miracles and limits
of my body. while I feel stronger after every session, I also leave with more gratitude for my body and increased self esteem
**CW: mentions of disordered eating**
stevie has raised the bar for what care and attention looks like in a personal trainer. avoiding personal trainers was part of my recovery from disordered eating / thinking. Training with stevie has only affirmed my relationship to my body. I'm so grateful to her and our shared lens of how diet culture benefits capitalism and white supremacy. it feels good to feel powerful when i say,
"all power to the people!"
as a trainer, as a friend, as an advocate for training that is inclusive and loving but also can push you as far as you want to be pushed, stevie has been great for me
she's really good at building a program around you and your needs. you're gonna feel pushed, you're gonna feel stretched, but you're also going to feel like you're being listened to. having a trainer who is not so rigid, who honors your boundaries, it's always a good balance. she understands everbody's journey is different, and everybody's body is different. you don't get it the way she gives it in a lot of places. it's with love and compassion, and wrapping that into health and fitness, where it so often isn't, is so important
