Decolonial & trauma-informed fitness are concepts created & curated by Black, Indigenous, queer and disabled folx. None of the ideas presented on this site or through my training are new, original, or my own. Below is a non-exhaustive list of educators and activists whose work & knowledge have shaped my understanding of anti-oppressive, trauma-informed movement practice.
if, like me, you are someone with white privilege, please pay reparations to Black people directly and continuously, without expectation of anything in return. reparations are not donations; reparations are owed.
Ⓐctive ResistⒶnce also supports Land Back. in solidarity with the Tongva people on whose unceded land i live and work, i offer an ongoing Kuuy nahwá’a or guest exchange - a voluntary recurring contribution to support the Tongva Taraxat Paxaavxa Conservancy. if you live in the LA area, please consider doing the same. Outside of LA, learn more about voluntary land taxes and land back projects in other areas
